the frame drum is one of the most archaic musical instruments. cultures worldwide have used and still are using the healing forces of drums for ceremonies and community rituals to affect change and social integration, to heal and to access the spiritual world.

the drum’s circular form symbolizes the universe. it’s constant beat represents the heart pulsing at the center of the universe; it symbolizes the earth, whose heartbeat is a sign of vitality.

the big mother drum is at the center of the circle drum ritual. as a meeting place, the mother drum provides grounding, clarity and concentration to the rhythmical movement of the group.
